rainy days are good days

It has been a long time since I posted, I actually forgot I even had a blog. Lets see, since I last posted we have moved twice, had a baby, changed jobs, received new church callings, and many other things. We moved to a two bedroom while still in Houston, lived there about five months then moved cross country to Hillsboro Oregon which is about 15 miles East of down town Portland. We moved for Nathan's new job as a freight broker for Conway. He is really great at it and enjoys it.

Our baby Asher is now 8 1/2 months old, he has two teeth on the bottom in the front, he is crawling and is incredibly independent. If he could he would do everything himself. Its been a struggle lately to get him to eat enough to stay full to sleep. He wont take the bottle and wont let us spoon feed him, and he gets annoyed and frustrated long before he can feed himself enough to stay content. A work in progress.

It rains here a lot. Most days are grey and dreary. Mist and moss are a consistent theme. I love it. I have never been so excited to see the sun as when it shines through after days of grey. The grass is green and soft though always soggy. The people are nice, no one uses umbrellas and everyone has a dog. We go to the coast fairly often, it is different than anywhere else. It is mysterious with large rock formations and pebbled beaches strewn with drift wood and the exoskeletons of crabs. There are crazy trees and waterfalls, beautiful small flowers and birds. The squirrels here have red tipped ears and are large and fast and enjoy teasing dogs from their branches.

In the rain is often the best place to dance and sing since no eyes will be searching above the grey pavement on which their feet are treading, unless they too are wanting to dance.
