Stuck in the mud

Today it is slightly overcast but warm as can be and pleasantly humid so I thought it would be a good day, after all the rain we've had, to meet Nathan at the park for lunch. We went on a walk along a narrow trail that follows the edge of a pretty large canal, Tucker loves it  back there and since there are hardly any people we usually let him run free. Today was no exception, and that being said he went straight for the water just like usual. Only this time he didn't come back.

We called and called but when there was still no sign of our puppy popping up over the grassy edge we retraced our steps and heard a low whimpering. It just took one look and Nathan and I were headed down the steep bank to find Tucker in the most awkward looking position in the water not moving a muscle. We obviously both thought he was hurt pretty bad and with Nathan being in his work clothes and needing to go back to the office I knew I needed to get in the water if anyone did. I didn't think it was all that deep since it was only up to the dog's shoulders but boy was I mistaken! My rolled up pants were soaked with one step, the second brought the brown water to my bottom and I realized Tuckers back legs were stuck in the mud. I put my hand on his back and maneuvered to get a grip around him when suddenly he bounds, one leap up and out! The silly dog shook and shook, soaking the rest of me, and Nathan's pants then kept bounding away chasing the butterflies happy as you please. Silly dog, either thought he was stuck or was messing with us pretty good.

Either way I am happy to say it was warm water, a warm day, a scary moment, a great story and everyone is okay! Hopefully he was stuck and won't think it was a fun game. It would be a bummer if he cried wolf one too many times...

2nd trimester blues

I have been feeling so good the past couple weeks I thought I was over the pregnancy nausea that causes me to loose all food and then some on a regular basis but the past couple days its been back! Not as persistent, I can hold down most food but apparently I am still dependent on my Zofran.
23 weeks!
I realized if I wear tight clothes I look pregnant, and when I wear my maternity clothes I still look like I could just be fat. Oh the problems of first world pregnant women!  I enjoy being prego and it is all worth it when he kicks me or rolls over. Luckily (at least for now) I am carrying him really low so he can't get at my ribs and he hasn't quite found my bladder but my lower back is free game as well as my pant line...Maybe it is time for those maternity jeans. I am still attempting to look for work and going to finally change my name tomorrow. I have also been searching for a place to move that is a bit bigger than our current one room. A couple possibilities have popped up so we may be moving sooner than originally planned! I love change and can't wait!

Camping and the Rodeo

This last week was super eventful! We went to the Houston livestock show and rodeo and watched Alabama perform. We also went to Austin for a business trip and stayed at a fancy resort then went camping with Ben Childs and his girls Maddie and Gabbi!
It was beautiful. A perfect 75 degrees, crisp air, clear water in the lake with birds and new spring flowers, green grass and we even saw some white tailed deer! We went on a hike Saturday morning and the little girls were troopers! They followed their uncle Nathan everywhere, even when he scaled huge rock faces and ripped his shorts to shreds. Nathan also had to jimmy rig out tent with his slack line since we didn't have all the poles, and we used a dutch oven for the first time and it turned out delish!

Goooood morning!

Both girls found their way up this rock! Thank you Uncle Nathan

Our big baby

I had a doctor's appointment today with Jessica Miller, an OB/GYN who is amazing. I found out our baby is 23 weeks tomorrow, and in the 90th percentile thanks to his gigantic head. However he is healthy with lots of movement and a good heart rate so I can handle a big baby.
I also forgot to take my anti-nausea meds and found out I am still dependent!
