Beginnings of Fall

It has been such a delight to watch the trees change color and to feel the chill in the air, Oregon was beautiful in the changing months but we missed most of it, the year before we were in Houston and there isn't really a fall at all. The vibrant reds and yellows are amazing! We are also enjoying hot chocolate, apple cider, and carving pumpkins!

Asher likes to kick the leaves that he finds on the ground now that Dad has shown him how. He is finally learning to keep a hat on, which is good because our good friends from Oregon made him the cutest hats ever and it would be sad if he wasn't willing to wear them!

Rue is doing well, lots of contractions and one doctor visit thinking we were in labor after Nathan's work party of lazer tag and greasy pizza! But she is still in there kicking and stretching. Asher is finally feeling better and is so much energy. He is happy and smiling, he wakes up laughing and runs all day long. I am grateful that he is easily entertained for the most part. He has also gotten two molars! And two more are starting to pop through. Asher is also a huge fan of the new youtube sensation What Does the Fox Say (click on the link to see the video, its not the original but its his favorite one) and laughs and dances when ever it comes on. He is really great entertainment.
He likes to be just like Dad and read the Book of Mormon in the glider.

Asher and his buddy Anders at church, they found a hole in the rocks filled with dirt and leaves.
Asher is staking blocks! He still prefers knocking them over, but his staking skills are pretty sweet.

Halloween was awesome! We were able to go trick or treating with some friends, Asher dressed up as Robin from Batman and was ooo'ed and ahh'ed over at every house! One old lady even said he had made Halloween her favorite holiday. It only took him about three houses to realize the awesome concept of walking/knocking/smiling=CANDY. He was even really great at putting it in his little bag to be carried by Dad and then running to keep up with the other kids. We also had a ward trunk or treat that he liked even more because every time he put his hand out someone gave him candy. He was also good at sneaking his little fist into other candy buckets if kids weren't watching carefully enough.

There is an event here called First Friday, every month it is different but in November on the first Friday all the Wal-Mart toy venders who have an office in Bentonville come out to show what their top toys for Christmas are and they give away tons of stuff and there are a bunch of characters who come, it is kind of like Disneyland with the food venders and people walking around in giant costumes, except its free :). Asher loved the TMNT's, we also saw Thor, Hello Kitty, the Power Rangers and a bunch of others.

Nathan saw this on pinterest and wanted to try it, could be good could be disgusting -it was a success! Its BACON PANCAKES. All you do is pre-crisp your bacon so its just how you like it then drain all the grease, put the bacon back on the griddle and cover it in pancake batter then cook like a normal pancake, we ate it with syrup and it was amazing. They even keep well in the fridge and are good cold later.
Lastly the quote, my friend posted this on facebook and I loved how straightforward it was and how perfectly in contrasted. I would almost argue and say the Satan side needs to be Satan/natural man, but it is pretty good as it.
